Mississippi Cavalry "C", (20.5mm)
Depicts a five pointed star with "C" for the
Mississippi Cavalry. Hyde & Goodrich supplied uniforms.
Backmark: "HYDE & GOODRICH / (dot) N - O. (dot)" rmdc on stippled
field, Scovill produced ca 1860. (Hyde01)
Two part high convex coat button.
Stand up shank intact, top grade gilded nondug button.

seal flat star "local" button, (22.2mm)
Star often used by Mississippi, flat star design was copied from pre
war version, on a lined field.
Backmark: "C. BELLENOT / * N. O. * ", Confederate local produced by C.
Bellenot, New Orleans (Bellenot01)
Shank intact, trace of gilding, smooth patina. Two small cracks have been filled
in.
Two part convex coat button, rare marked "local"
Recovered: Vicksburg Mississippi
