Waterbury Button Co, Waterbury Connecticut
Waterbury Button Co began producing buttons under its own name in 1849 and is the only Civil War button producer operating today. WBC did not produce any buttons for any of the southern states before the war or for the Confederacy, but they did produce large quantities for the north.
Most information on this page is from Tice's book, Dating Buttons..., the pictures are generally from buttons that I have handled.

CONN (graphic) " dm, two rings between layers top is solid ring, bottom is
rope ring, faint inner ring of dots, transition backmark, 1860's to post
war.
