B3834     Alabama "Map" staff button CSA local (21.5mm)

Backmark: Blank back, deep sloping channel, likely the product of C Rouyer, New Orleans (BlankLocal18)
Depicts map of Alabama on a scroll, the state seal. This pattern shows "Alabama" in large letters. Actually the crude die stamping is weak and the letters are faint. Button is a two part button, made to look like a staff with a fat false rim.
Shank missing, button is sharp, better than most of these rare locals.
Recovered: Stafford County, Va
Ref: Albert AB7A, Tice AB202A1         Sale pending!
