Leavenworth 100... series, Leavenworth, Hayden, and Scovill, 1811 to 1827.

Backmark: "L. H. & S. / W. Ct. Gilt" rm, manufactured by the partnership of Leavenworth, Hayden and Scovill , Waterville Company, around 1811 to 1820's, this partnership is the earliest of the Scovill backmarks, (Leavonworth.100). Referrence: Tice, Dating Buttons, page 64.

B4493 Artillery button, 1st Regiment Light Artillerists, "A" script letters, with "1" surrounded by stars, 1815 period flat button, L H & S WC, rm, (20.4mm)

Leavenworth.150, (18mm).
Backmark: "(star) (star) (star) / L. H. & SCOVILL" rm between two solid rings, manufactured by the partnership of Leavenworth, Hayden and Scovill , 1820's, this partnership is the earliest of the Scovill backmarks, (Leavonworth.150). Referrence: Tice, Dating Buttons, page 64.

B7402...Federal officer button, eagle with shield, "LEAVENWORTH & CO / (star) WATERBURY CT (star) /EXTRA SUPERFINE / (star) (star) (star) (star) (star) (star)" dm, (23mm). Button was intended for officers, depicting patriotic symbolism of eagle grasping arrows for war and olive branch for peace. Backmark: "LEAVENWORTH & CO / (star) WATERBURY CT (star) /EXTRA SUPERFINE / (star) (star) (star) (star) (star) (star)" dm middle solid ring, two inner rings, ca 1840's, (Leavenworth.400). Three part officer button, coat size.
Button.1.Federal.10.Officer.Leavenworth.400. Die pattern features eagle with short neck facing right surrounded by stars, stripes only in shield with concave top, pointed ears, straight sides, and scalloped bottom with a point, five arrows in right talon, eagle tail is long and fan like. Reference: Albert GS, Tice GS.
