B7044...Federal general service or militia button, eagle with shield, one part flat, "SUPERIOR / (dot) STRONG PLATED (dot) " dm, (23mm). Button depicts eagle facing right with patriotic shield, generally intended for enlisted troops and were widely used by both sides including state units. Backmark "SUPERIOR / (dot) STRONG PLATED (dot) " dm between two solid rings, manufactured ca 1830's, (Superior Plated.100). One part flat button, coat size.
