Rivet'd & Solder'd backmarks

"Rivet'd & Solder'd" backmarks are believed to have been the marks of Prussian manufacturer Schnitzler & Kirschbaum, operating in Birmingham England.  They supplied buttons to the south through the blockade.  It appears that initially they depicted  their name with a coat of arms, then later moved into more generic backmarks, probably to disguise their origin.

Most information on this page is from Tice's book, Dating Buttons..., the pictures are generally from buttons that I have handled.

Rivetd01, (24mm) (coat)

Backmark:  "RIVET'D & SOLDER'D" (in a graphic depicting lion and unicorn surrounding coat of arms) " dm, English manufacture, possibly by Prussian producer Schnitzler & Kirshbaum, (Rivetd01).
Tice page 176, item count 1.  Note the slight differences between this backmark made for the 26mm button (CS1) and that made for the 24mm button, CS5.  The dies are essentially the same representation in substance, but the die maker did have to cut two different dies because the two buttons are different size, a comparison will reveal minor differences.
