Fakes, reproductions, replicas,
Confederate Navy two part buckle, fouled anchor style, Confederate plates 080 & 081

Originals were finely crafted, likely European in origin.  Plate 080 is die struck tongue, plate 081 is cast style seen on other European designs.

Editor note: I do not know when this was made or for what purpose.  Many of these well made and marked English plates were produced in the 20th century.  The Civil War example shown in Mullinax book differs from this in many material respects.  Piece was rejected, I am working off of pictures so have not handled this plate.  It is highly doubtful this plate can be shown to be authentic.

Editor note: "jaglady00" is Hanover Brass, items sold as reproductions.    This looks to be a combination of the motif from plate 081, and the wreath from 080.  They say this is a close copy but I am not sure what it is actually a copy of, as there is not a plate published in Mullinax that matches this.
