Gathering at the Old Courthouse Civil War Museum was President Jefferson Davis, Gen. Robert E. Lee, and many other well-known generals who fought for the Confederacy:

Representing the Union was President Abraham Lincoln, Lt. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant,  Maj. Gen. Winfield Scott Hancock, and many other well-known generals who fought for the Union .

These gentlemen gathered in a reunion of old comrades-in-arms and fellow West Point graduates and spoke to the public of their reminiscences of the Late Unpleasantness.  They discussed and debated the causes and effects of America ’s greatest period of internal strife and trial.  The Generals may also debated battle strategy and to chided one another for errors in command on the field. 

Presidents Lincoln and Davis debated the political and Constitutional subjects of their day, including the legal right of the southern states to have seceded and formed their own nation.  All participants were available for questions, for one-on-one discussion and for photographs.
