P2777 ### Hanover Brass repro: Federal sword plate. This is an example of Hanover Brass commercial grade reproduction, the plate has been produced in quantity, sold to the living history market, and is generally readily available. The product has also been used as feedstock for fakes, with chemical aging and other alterations. Gary Williams has provided the following pictures and explanation: Photo # ESBP14 Plate 621 1861 Eagle Officers Sword Belt Plate 52 x 86mm. Applied nickle silver wreath. Wreath tips are what to look for. They do not reproduce the wreath tips above the wings. My tips are different. Also the hook is soldered to the plate and the original was brazed which makes it look like it is cast solid on the original.
