P2770 ### Hanover Brass repro: Federal sword plate. This is an example of Hanover Brass commercial grade reproduction, the plate has been produced in quantity, sold to the living history market, and is generally readily available. The product has also been used as feedstock for fakes, with chemical aging and other alterations. Gary Williams has provided the following pictures and explanation: Photo # ESBP7 Plate 657 1863-1865 Eagle Officers Sword Belt Plate Reproduction size 50 x 82mm. Cast from my original so it is about 1mm smaller. GW under the wide hook. The hook is cast thick and the original hook was thin brass stamped.
