Plate1901-Militia-IndianWarrectangle waist belt plate, Militia Company CPlate depicts C presumably Company C. Plate is simple construction, sheet brass, the letter is die stamped and held in place with wire, wide tongue is brazed, keeper bar is brazed. This is thought to have been intended for state militia use during the period following the Civil War, 1866 to 1890's.Reference: O'Donnell & Campbell, illustration 824, similar.
