P2875 ### Hanover Brass repro: New York 55th. Regiment Two Piece Belt Plate. This is an example of Hanover Brass commercial grade reproduction, the plate has been produced in quantity, sold to the living history market, and is generally readily available. The product has also been used as feedstock for fakes, with chemical aging and other alterations. Gary Williams has provided the following pictures and explanation: Photo # USNY5 USNY5 Plate 354 (New York 55th. Regiment Two Piece Belt Plate.) 49 x 89mm's. GW stamped inside the bottom center piece. Original is in the Charles Burnette collection. This two piece should not be a problem because the center piece was die stamped and applied to the bar.
