P2892 ### Hanover Brass repro: South Carolina Two Piece Belt Plate. This is an example of Hanover Brass commercial grade reproduction, the plate has been produced in quantity, sold to the living history market, and is generally readily available. The product has also been used as feedstock for fakes, with chemical aging and other alterations. Gary Williams has provided the following pictures and explanation: Photo # CSSC5 Plate FANTASY. 1970 South Carolina Two Piece Belt Plate. Never was never will be a Civil War belt plate. I made this belt plate in the 1970's for a customer and used it for my master pattern to cast the South Carolina to sell. I see this plate faked but never an original like this .
