P2905 ### Hanover Brass repro: Texas Sword Belt Plate.
This is an example of Hanover Brass commercial grade reproduction, the plate has been produced in quantity, sold to the living history market, and is generally readily available. The product has also been used as feedstock for fakes, with chemical aging and other alterations. Gary Williams has provided the following pictures and explanation:
Photo # CSTX8.Photo # CSTX8 Plate 324 (Texas Sword Belt Plate) 45 x 74mm's. Marked GW. The original of this reproduction had a silver star and applied silver wreath. My reproduction is cast with a red or yellow star and applied silver wreath. This buckle should not be a problem. Original had a applied hook, my hook is cast. There is no bench no. in the original.
