P2668 ### Hanover Brass repro: CS two part. This is an example of Hanover Brass commercial grade reproduction, the plate has been produced in quantity, sold to the living history market, and is generally readily available. The product has also been used as feedstock for fakes, with chemical aging and other alterations. Gary Williams has provided the following pictures and explanation: Photo # CS2P32 Plate ???? (one of a kind) CS Two Piece Belt Plate. 51 x 79mm. Original from the John Turner collection. This is what the Confederate foundries did when it came to making a buckle set work. They took the Culpeper tongue and made it fit a coin style wreath. The original was dug in Tennessee. Another belt plate that should not be a fake problem but if it is, check out the casting flaws.
