P0804 ###
FP0804 CS two part buckle, Haiman style Two part buckle manufactured by Haiman, known for unique style of lettering, pronounced vent and dip in the back of the tongue. Tongue keeper 47mm, wreath keeper 46.2mm, wreath 47mm Beautiful dug example, both halves dug together. Recovered: Murfreesboro, TN Reference: Mullinax (Expanded Edition) Plate 017Bought from John Turner 8/11/02. A dealer bought this buckle from me, and sold it to another dealer who in turn sold it to a third dealer. In 2008 I notified the last dealer in the chain that I now believe the buckle to be fake and that I offered to repurchase it. That dealer had sold it and said he did not want to disturb his customer over it. I told the dealer that if the buckle was not recalled, this would void any future warranty as to this piece .

P2660 ### Hanover Brass repro: CS two part, Haiman.
This is an example of Hanover Brass commercial grade reproduction, the plate has been produced in quantity, sold to the living history market, and is generally readily available. The product has also been used as feedstock for fakes, with chemical aging and other alterations. Gary Williams has provided the following pictures and explanation:
Photo # CS2P24 Plate 015 (Hiaman Style) CS Two Piece Belt Plate. 47 x 81/wreath ht.48mm. From the John Turner collection. This is a variant of the Plate 016. Smaller in size and more casting flaws. There are flaws on the center piece in front of the CS that you can use as your reference. I have seen this plate faked and several are for sale now.

P3268 ###
F1268 Haiman CS Robert Manalli siteIs this P0804? Wallace says he sold a buckle to Manalli, got the Haiman from Garnet Smith, who said it came from me. I never sold any Haiman to Garnet, but I did sell a Haiman to Wallace. Wallace says he got it from Garnet, but does not remember every buying this buckle from me. So is it the same one or not. The pictures do not match exactly. It is also possible that the Turner buckle is the one original he had and not the four copies GW made. At this point GW smells a rat, will not provide me with his copy of the repro, which is what I need to absolutely prove it. Meanwhile Manalli told Wallace that he sold it already to Burton, and that Burton has sold it. So at this point I can't locate the buckle, can't be sure it is the same one, and can't be sure if it is good or bad.
