F1039 North Carolina/CSA 2-Piece Belt Buckle manufactured by Hanover Brass  This reproduction North Carolina/CSA two piece plate was cast from an original. Cast in red brass. A very rare plate. P2673 ### Hanover Brass repro: CS two part, CSA or North Carolina.
This is an example of Hanover Brass commercial grade reproduction, the plate has been produced in quantity, sold to the living history market, and is generally readily available. The product has also been used as feedstock for fakes, with chemical aging and other alterations. Gary Williams has provided the following pictures and explanation:
Photo # CS2P37 Plate 063 CSA/North Carolina Two Piece belt Plate. 49 x 88/wreath heigth 47mm. GW stamped in the back. This two piece was put together and not dug together. This is probably the way it was cast but not sure. Very rare and a good seller. Too rare to fake but check out a casting flaw.
