P2671 ### Hanover Brass repro: CS two part, plain style.
This is an example of Hanover Brass commercial grade reproduction, the plate has been produced in quantity, sold to the living history market, and is generally readily available. The product has also been used as feedstock for fakes, with chemical aging and other alterations. Gary Williams has provided the following pictures and explanation:
Photo # CS2P35 Plate 070 Plain Two Piece Belt Plate. 46 x 83/wreath ht.43mm. GW stamped in the back. From the John Turner collection. This belt plate was used by the Army of Tennessee. This is a reproduction you need to study. Pick out a casting flaw. A very close copy.

All applies to this belt plate that applies to Plate 070. A very close copy.Note it appears that two different pattern of wreaths were used within this set of pics.
