Six shot percussion revolver, Remington Beals Navy, .36 cal. . Remington, Beals Navy, is the earliest of the Remington series of Navy revolvers, a six shot percussion revolver, .36 caliber. Revolver was manufactured by Remington Arms, Ilion, New York. Marks: Barrel is marked: BEALS PATENT. SEPT. 14. 1858 / MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTONS' / ILION, N Y . Serial number under the barrel, inspector marks on barrel and on the frame Standard features included octagon barrel, barrel threads are concealed, round cylinder does not have safety notches, loading lever has clean lines and short hinge, cylinder is removed for loading by pulling forward knob on cylinder pin with the loading lever released, iron backstrap is integral with frame, walnut grips, brass trigger guard.
