W0566 ### Dean & Adams Revolver .44 cal . (sn# 12850) . Revolver produced in England.This one shows a maker mark on top of the frame, but I cannot make it out, marking appears twice Trantor's Patent.SN 12850. Research Center: Weapon4801-Revolver-English-Dean-Adams .

W1118 ### Five shot percussion pocket revolver, Adams Patent, .32 cal., , with box and accoutrements. (sn# 5278) . This finely crafted revolver, made in England, were well advanced ahead of its American counterparts.This is the 19th century version of the concealed weapon and was popular then as now as a weapon of last resort for self defense.This model is very high quality and would have been an expensive weapon sold to a wealthy owner.The grips are single wood finely carved, metal is fully blued, showing considerable art work.Marks: on top of barrel, MANUF'd by C.D.DULY AND LEGALLY LICENSED, right side of frame: ADAM'S PATENT and serial number, left side of frame ADAMS / 1851/ PATENT, cylinder: and frame each show a makers cartouche, frame is adorned with various artistic designs.Serial number, 5278 appears at least twice, right side frame and cylinder.This revolver arrived with a box, thought to be original, that includes a flask with American patriotic symbolism, a bullet mold for a round ball, two tools, and a box containing various bullets and caps.Everything fits in the box, it is likely original and the presence of American symbolism on the flask suggests this was specifically made to be sold in the American market.Period of manufacture is estimated 1850's.Octagon barrel length 4.62in.32 cal, estimated. These are antique collectible weapons of the Civil War (most are pre 1865, unless I state otherwise) and actual firing of these weapons is not recommended for any purpose whatsoever! Because these are all "pre 1898" weapons, no licenses are required for ownership, but common sense and good judgment should be applied.
