W0692 ### Dragoon Saber, Model 1833, maker not determined. . The model 1833 dragoon saber was closely modeled after the similar British model 1821. Sword was introduced with the three branches on the hilt, this feature appears on all later versions of the cavalry saber. Manufactured by N.P. Ames, Springfield, Massachusetts. Marks: ricasso is usually hand engraved, this one is not marked and may have been a sales sample or was private purchased. Scabbard is iron, two riding rings, throat is secured with two rivets on the narrow side. Standard features include: brass cover is fitted on top of Grip, grip is lead covered and wrapped in brass wire. Quillion is distinct scroll.
