W1143 ### Confederate Cavalry saber, unknown maker. . This Confederate cavalry saber was modeled after the Federal Model 1840, but differs in a number of respects, the most notable being the unstopped fuller. Manufactured by Confederate unknown maker. Standard features include: unstopped fuller. Maker is not identified, collectors have been referring to these as Dog River, this is a name of collector convenience made up in the 20th century. Research Center: Weapon7591-Sword-Confederate-Not-Identified . Reference: Albaugh Confederate Swords pg. 177. Blade length, 34.5in. Sword is missing the scabbard, handle intact with leather wrap and wire, blade is brown, leather washer missing, and handle has a small wiggle. |
