W1143 ### Confederate Cavalry saber, unknown maker. . This Confederate cavalry saber was modeled after the Federal Model 1840, but differs in a number of respects, the most notable being the unstopped fuller. Manufactured by Confederate unknown maker. Standard features include: unstopped fuller. Maker is not identified, collectors have been referring to these as Dog River, this is a name of collector convenience made up in the 20th century. Research Center: Weapon7591-Sword-Confederate-Not-Identified . Reference: Albaugh Confederate Swords pg. 177. Blade length, 34.5in. Sword is missing the scabbard, handle intact with leather wrap and wire, blade is brown, leather washer missing, and handle has a small wiggle.

These are antique collectible weapons of the Civil War (most are pre 1865, unless I state otherwise) and actual firing of these weapons is not recommended for any purpose whatsoever! Because these are all "pre 1898" weapons, no licenses are required for ownership, but common sense and good judgment should be applied.
