Eagle on pedestal not known , pattern is considered a "fantasy", there is no idication that anything like this ever existed during the Civil War. However who produced and for what purpose is a mystery. This could be a 20th century blazer button.

Firmin commemorative set of Confederate buttons. These very high quality buttons were offered by Firmin as commemorative sets. This is the same English maker who produced buttons during the Civil War, but these are NOT restrikes, these are new dies using new techniques. Pictures were submitted to relicman, however they did not photograph the back. These sets were widely distributed, the backs are plain and some of aged fakes on the market appear to have come from these sets.
