Buttons were produced after 1875 by Firmin when the English limited liability laws were in place. Buttons are sometimes referred as Restrikes, but the shape of the buttons and backmarks all changed to 1880's manufacturing techniques. The purpose of these buttons is not clear, they may have been intended for the Veteran activities of this period. Albert reported this general class of buttons, CS71 to CS72.

These buttons are sometimes described as restrikes. The die faces may have been struck using original Civil War dies but the backs clearly date to a later period.
