Button-4912-GMI-Unknown Button-4912-GMI-Unknown GMI one part button is 1830's design, and predates the Georgia school, GMI, founded in 1851. Dating, style, and symbolism more closely follows that of a northern school, Norwich Universtiy in Vermont, but so far researchers have not been able to identify the actual use of this pattern.
