B0103. Confederate officer button, eagle facing right with 14 stars on a plain field with border, English wartime manufacture, W. Dowler Superior, (14mm) Reference: Albert CS7, tice CS207As1.

B0121...Confederate engineer button, stippled script "E" on plain background with border, English wartime manufacture, "W. DOWLER / SUPERIOR" dm, (14mm) Button depicts stippled script "E", intended for Confederate Engineer officers, manufactured in England and smuggled through the blockade. Backmark: "W. DOWLER / SUPERIOR" dm inner ring of dots, made by English producer, used only on small size buttons (DowlerW110).Two part convex button, small size for hat or sleeve. Reference: Albert CS154, Tice CSE215As1. Dug button, gilded, shank missing. Recovered: Richmond, Virginia.
