B1882....Georgia school button, Georgia Military Institute "GMI", "FINE / (dot) (star) (dot) GILT (dot) (star) (dot)", rmdc, (15mm). This is an early design and probably was originally intended to be a coat button. Backmark: "FINE / (dot) (star) (dot) GILT (dot) (star) (dot)", rmdc, likely manufacture by Steele & Johnson, ca. 1850's, (Fine Gilt 110). Button 3020 Georgia, Georgia Military Institute, Fine Gilt 110. Reference: Albert SU130, TiceGAS296. Dug button. Recovered: GMI site in Marietta Ga
