Backmark-HalfmannE000 . Ethelbert Halfmann was a clothier operating from Montgomery Alabama before the war. Buttons sold during this period were manfactured by Scovill. During the war the partnership of Halfmann & Taylor was formed, buttons were produced in England and smuggled through the blockade. Research Center: Backmark-HalfmannE000 .
