B6633 Kentucky cadet button, Kentucky Military Institute, officer staff, FK Hassam, dm, (16mm)

Ref: Albert SU193, Tice KYS280,not listed. Note Tice does not list this backmark in the Kentucky section but does list it in his backmark analysis as an 1855 backmark. Bazelon & McGuinn lists this firm as operating 1847 to 1865, and did not appear in any city directories after the war. The text in Tice's backmark study says 1865 to 1870, this appears to be in error, this is a rare KMI staff button of the prewar period!
