Backmark: "IMPERIAL / (star) STANDARD (star)", rmdc, stippled channel, backmark was a trademark denoting quality, and was probably manufactured in England, (ImperialStandard100). B5520...General service or militia button, eagle facing right beside shield, 16 stars, one part flat, Imperial Standard, (22mm) Button depicts a patriotic eagle, and could be purchased by any militia units in the1830's and 1840's.  This pattern features eagle facing right beside a shield, 16 stars, wide oval inner border, outer rope border.  Backmark:  IMPERIAL / (star) STANDARD (star), rmdc, stippled channel, backmark was a trademark denoting quality, and was probably manufactured in England, (Imperial01).  One part flat button, coat size.  Nondug button, gilded, stand up shank.  Ref: Albert GI61A.
