Federal artillery button, eagle over cannon, one part flat, "RICH QUALITY (script lettering) / LONDON / solid ring/ (eight stars)" dm, (23mm).
Button was intended for artillery and depicts eagle over a cannon, generally for officers. Backmark: "RICH QUALITY (script lettering) / LONDON / solid ring/ (eight stars)" dm, flat button, English manufacture 1820s or 1830s, (RichQualityLondon110). One part flat button, coat size.

Button depicts state seal of Massachusetts, native American holding bow and arrow, use of this version of the state seal dates from the colonial period, intended for troops from Massachusetts. Backmark: "RICH QUALITY (script lettering) / LONDON / solid ring/ (eight stars)" dm, flat button, English manufacture 1820s or 1830s, (Rich 110). One part flat button, coat size. Nondug button. Reference: Albert MS19, Tice MS036A4.
