Button depicts state seal of Massachusetts, coat of arms with "Massachusetts", native American, arm and saber above, intended for troops from Massachusetts. This die pattern features the seal on a lined field with border. Backmark: "RICH QUALITY / (dot) LONDON (dot)", dm between two rings, two (dot)s in center, flat one part button, English producer 1820s or 1830s, (Rich02). One part flat button, coat size.
