Research Center: Button1200-FedInfantry-SteeleJohnson202, Die pattern, eagle wings are ruffled, tail with five feathers are nearly equal in length, shield has a relatively low point at the top.

Federal artillery button, eagle with "A", (SteeleJohnson202), (two part button, coat size, 21mm). Button was intended for artillery and depicts eagle with "A" in the shield, generally for officers. Backmark: "STEELE. / & JOHNSON. & " dm between two rings, ca 1850's to 1860's, (SteeleJohnson202).
