Federal officer button, eagle with shield, (Tiffany120), (three part button, coat size, 22mm). Button was intended for officers, depicting patriotic symbolism of eagle grasping arrows for war and olive branch for peace. Backmark: "TIFFANY & CO. / (star) NEW (dot) YORK (star) " dm ca 1860's, (Tiffany120). Research Center: Button1100-FedOfficer-Tiffany120, This die pattern features eagle facing right surrounded by stars, stripes only in shield with concave top, blunt tips, rounded sides and rounded bottom with a point, four arrows in left talon.
