B2660...Federal general service or militia button, eagle with shield, one part flat, "Treble GILT / (star) STANDD (D is underlined) COLOUR" (star) dm, (23mm) Button depicts eagle facing right with patriotic shield, generally intended for enlisted troops and were widely used by both sides including state units. Backmark: "Treble GILT / (star) STANDD (D is underlined) COLOUR" (star) dm between two solid rings, one part flat button, ca 1820s or 1830s, (Treble 160). One part flat button, coat size. Button was intended for artillery and depicts eagle over a cannon, generally for officers.
