| Backmark-WaterburyButtonCo000 Waterbury Button Co. began producing buttons under its own name in 1849 and is the only Civil War button producer operating today. WBC did not produce any buttons for any of the southern states before the war or for the Confederacy, but they did produce large quantities for the north.
