If a button is shanked without pressing a well, then the rays remain at the full length, if a well channel is pressed then part of the rays will be pressed into the well and appear to be shorter. It is the opinion of the author that this was done when the button was shanked, and is not actually a variant in the die. Two part button, large coat size, 22mm to 23mm.
