Button5921-Ohio-WMI-Scovill655 Ohio school, WMI Western Military Institute. Backmark-Scovill655 Ohio school, WMI Western Military Institute, location not determined, identification is tentative. Backmark: "SCOVILL MFG CO / (dot) WATERBURY (dot)" rmdc, small variations of spacing, are found, Scovill manufactured ca 1850's and apparently used multiple copies of this die. Backmark: "SCOVILL. / MFG. CO." dm, no rings, ca 1850s to 1860's, rings or other details used on the large size buttons were omitted as an abbreviation to fit the space. Transitional use, some may have been manufactuered after the Civil War. Two part convex button, hat or sleeve size, 14mm to 16mm. Research Center: Button5921-Ohio-WMI-Scovill700 .
