Republic of Texas was an independent republic, 1836 to 1845. Navy. Backmark: "J. M. L. & W. H. SCOVILL / (dot) WATERBURY (dot) / EXTRA SUPERFINE (dot) (star) (dot) (star) (dot) (star) (dot)" dm, between solid inner and middle ring, there is no outer ring, flat back, Scovill manufacture 1830s. Stamping may be weak and some of the punctuation details may be obscured, ca 1827 to 1830's. Two part convex button, large coat size, 21mm to 23mm.

Republic of Texas was an independent republic, 1836 to 1845. Navy. Backmark: "SCOVILLS & CO / (dot) WATERBURY (dot)" dm, two between two rings, third outer ring gives impression of twisted rope, ca 1840s. Two part convex button, large coat size, 21mm to 23mm.
