Alabama two part plate, Mullinax illustrations 210 or 211. This is JS Smith design, oak leaf wreath. Gary Williams made multiple versions. One version involved the tongue from Ridgeway collection, a tongue dug by Steve Baker and photographed in Crouch book. The original of this buckle remains in the Ridgeway collection, and regrettably Gary Williams was allowed to copy it. These copies seem to have been used extensively for fakes.

Alabama two part plate, Mullinax illustration 214. The example shown in Mullinax book was owned by Walt Lineberger at the time. It is now known to be a fantast, this plate was recalled by Shannon Pritchard and shown to experts, Shannon says he destroyed it. So the only picture surviving may be the picture in Mullinacx book. Long after Mullinax book was published, Gary Williams explained how he made this pattern out of cardboard, and brags about how he fooled Mullinax into listing this in his book as a rarity 10. This is typical of the deceit practiced by Gary Williams over and over again.

Alabama sword plates, Mullinax illustration 215. Hanover Brass used different examples for their master and made multiple versions. The example stated as Butafuso collection, was actually owned originally by Hicklen and Mullinax, sold to Ridgeway, a picture of it is shown in the Ridgeway Reference center. It was eventually sold to Bill Hays and ended up with Butafuso. Along the way it got copied. However that plate was rough condition and pitted, Williams eventually found a better example to copy and most of the fakes are from the better original.
